Preserving precious reusable resources.
Modern facilities that recycle food, leaf and yard waste into high-quality compost, fertilizer and soil supplements.
Preserving precious reusable resources.
GFL handles over 400,000 tons of organic material at its facilities each year. Keeping organics out of landfills also reduces methane emissions.
One of our largest facilities, in Delta, British Columbia, was upgraded with an agitated, aerated channel system and a fully enclosed biofilter. It supports Metro Vancouver's work to keep food waste out of landfills, and sits beside GFL's turf farm, which uses much of the compost it produces.
